The US Army claims its first victory. The national Republicans gather to criticize President Wilson, claiming he is making the people's war a partisan effort led by George Creel from the CPI. Five people died in a train crash at Waterloo, Iowa. The Greater Iowa League elects its board and adopts resolutions denouncing the Non Partisan League and the IWW.
