The influenza epidemic is reported in Britain, with symptoms similar to the outbreaks in Spain and Germany. The cases are said to be spreading fast, rarely fatal, and concentrated in hospitals and the military camps. Arthur Griffith is elected on the Sinn Fein ticket to the British parliament while he is imprisoned.
