The vaccination of the troops against typhoid at Fort Armstrong has been suspended due to the prevalence of influenza. Surgeons are eager to avoid serious health complications. President Wilson, Treasury Secretary McAdoo and AFL leader Gompers all urge the American people to live frugally to aid the war effort.
