The Keokuk, Iowa paper sees the spread of influenza as a new horror in the war: how anyone can speak German with a cold in the head? President Wilson announces aid will be sent to Siberia via Vladivostock. Herbert Hoover, US food administrator, says the war is being won by American export of foods and the starvation of the conquered Germans.
