The total American casualties have reached 46,000, including 20,000 previously unreported for being too slight. Reports still circulate about Lenin's death. Regular airmail service between New York and Chicago will begin on October 1. The Cubs tie up the Series with the Red Sox with a 3-1 victory, winning pitcher Lefty Tyler scores two RBI.
