The village school had seriously decreased school attendance during the long spell of cold weather in Norwich, Connecticut. Mrs Charles E Ramsey and Miss Gladys Tibbetts are both ill with influenza. The Boston brand of the National Equal Rights league telegrammed President Wilson asking: "Are not two or three lynchings worthy of a message to congress from the president?"
