The mysterious epidemic disease resembling influenza is reported in Tientsin, North China. The spread is other the entire region. Banks and silk houses have closed, and the police have been stricken and unable to work. So far no fatalities. Rose Pastor Stokes is sentenced to 30 years under the espionage act for opposing the war. The Carnegie Institute is experimenting with reducing food to fat people as a food conservation measure.
