The National Medical Association, the African American representative organization, meets at Virginia Union University. None of the scientific papers address influenza or pneumonia, although the venereal disease in the camps are discussed. The delegates do protest the race restrictions on their war service, and the Jim Crow streetcar laws. A male-only "smoker" concludes the event.
