The Alien Property Custodian Palmer connects the money to purchase the Washington Times to Germans and brewing interests. Palmer would later become Attorney General, have his house fire-bombed and lead the Red Scares of 1919. Franklin Roosevelt remains extremely sick with pneumonia.
