Influenza is now on the front page everywhere and in the banner headline. Public gatherings at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD are cancelled. Provost Marshall Crowder has cancelled the draft and call-up for 142,000 men due to the influenza pandemic in the training camps. New daily counts of influenza (4,123) and pneumonia (723) cases were reported from the camps.
