Endorsing their candidate Shoemaker against opponents who are mere brainy, college educated and lame in politics, the Tacoma (WA) Times sports a headline that the electorate worry about their votes being bought. Elsewhere in the newspaper a German is caught mapping the port of Tacoma, and a German secret agent and chemist is caught trying to escape to Mexico. The ongoing coverage of the Praeger lynching in Collinsville turns up that a boy in knee pants had lead the mob.
